Replace Your Faulty Chinese Drywall With DragonBoard
After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, thousands of Florida homeowners fell victim to an untested, unsafe product known as “Chinese drywall” or “Chinese gypsum.” This happened because there was demand for a cheap drywall alternative immediately after the hurricane. Chinese drywall turned out to be a flimsy wallboard made from the waste residue of burnt coal, manufactured by a German company.
The alternative is DragonBoard, the only UL-approved construction panel that is fire- and waterproof, mold/fungus/bug free, impact-resistant, NYC approved, silica/asbestos free, and Florida hurricane tested. DragonBoard is ideal for wall paneling and also flooring, and is guaranteed to offer substantial cost savings. This super-product is manufactured from a combination of magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride, and includes fibrous reinforcement.
Magnesium oxide is a type of mineral cement, and is often denoted, MgO because of its chemical composition of magnesium and oxygen. The product is available in many forms, and it comes in various thickness and sheet sizes for building purposes. The use of magnesium oxide goes back several centuries, almost to the Pyramids. The boards are harder than drywall, but it can be cut with a power saw, drilled through and fastened like other boards.
From wall and ceiling linings to fascias, soffits, tile backings and underlayments, DragonBoard can be used for a number of applications. It can be used indoors and outdoors, and even in damp locations such as showers, since its performance is unaffected when it absorbs water. If used in an exposed location outdoors, DragonBoard will need paint or some other form of coating.
DragonBoard is the cure for the problems faced with Chinese drywall. It is also environmentally friendly, and free of heavy metals, solvents and silicates. And, unlike Chinese gypsum, the magnesium oxide board is naturally mildew and vermin-resistant.
